Envy’s Rich Martin has won an award for his sound design work on a trailer for the Channel 4 programme Jamie’s Great Britain, at the inaugural Music and Sound Awards.
The Music and Sound Awards 2012 is the first and only awards ceremony to focus entirely on music and sound design in the media.
The winning entry was a complicated rendition of Rule Britannia by a 100 piece orchestra, played entirely on objects more commonly found in the kitchen.
Rich worked closely with composer Pete Diggens to create a believable soundscape, by combining the location sound with a specifically created samples and foley. “We went to great lengths to ensure that the audience didn’t question the authenticity of the recording for a second.” said Rich.
